Austin's Weekly Cinema Digest
A weekly cheat sheet for seeing films at their best. Every edition is ranked by format — 70mm down to 4K HDR — so you know your options before you buy a ticket. Austin has no 70mm IMAX, so we cover the nearest screens in Dallas and San Antonio, plus the best of Austin's cinemas and programming. One email, every Monday.

What lands in your inbox
True IMAX, 70mm, 35mm, Dolby Vision, and 4K HDR screenings are tagged so you always know what format a film is running in before you buy a ticket.
Beyond the multiplexes: the Paramount's Summer Classic Film Series, Austin Film Society member screenings, and Hyperreal Film Club events — all in the same digest.
The full week's schedule — Monday through Sunday — lands in your inbox before the week starts. Plan ahead, grab tickets early, make it a regular thing.
Premium formats and great programming, all in one place.
The Bob Bullock in Austin is the only full-size IMAX screen in the city — but it's digital-only. True IMAX means a full-size screen with a 70mm film projector, the highest quality format a film can be shown in. There are only two of those in Texas, and neither is in Austin.
We filter aggressively to keep the digest focused on the best available formats. If you want to see everything that didn't make the cut — standard screenings, museum docs, filtered-out Alamo shows — every edition links to a full filtered screenings page so nothing is ever truly hidden.
